Overview
Every Sunday morning between 6am and 8am PST, Tee It Up Radio Network in Hollywood, California airs a LIVE nationally syndicated broadcast which is heard not only regionally on FOX SPORTS RADIO AM570, but as well on 70 other commercial radio stations across America called the Tee It Up Radio Network. For almost fifteen years, this entertaining program has provided its listeners with a candid and passionate look at the world of golf and its corresponding lifestyle. Features of the show include endless discussions about the game and its players, golf course reviews, information about golf resort spas and restaurants, and exclusive interviews with athletes, celebrities, analysts, and other notable golf lovers. The show is also on the road half the year broadcasting from world renowned destinations.
Each episode of RADIO FAMILY depicts the trials and tribulations that go along with the chaotic planning, problem-solving, and ultimate production of the Tee It Up Radio Network.
Format
We follow all of the on-location action surrounding the show: events in the studio, office antics, home life, golf with friends and celebrities, business meetings with agencies, companies, and sponsors. We also document the travels of the show as they tour the globe for approximately six months to fulfill a commitment of about fifteen to twenty remote broadcasts.
The Hosts/Staff
The show is founded, operated, and co-hosted by a father and son duo named Alan and Adam Gottfried, respectively. Their loose, easy-going banter on the air creates the cozy environment of a clubhouse after a round at your favorite golf course, but their words off the air often escalate to reflect an intense desire to make the show the best that it can be.
Alan’s wife Marge Gottfried is responsible for the radio network expansion, but also heads up the daily office management. She is the heart and soul of the operation and is not afraid to share her opinion. Alex “Foghorn” Fish is the twenty-something producer of the radio network who is wise beyond his years and always ready to tackle whatever issues may arise. Bobby Dickerman was brought in to assist Marge in her daily duties but he is now in charge of his own division of the company. He is a 61 year old jokester who acts more like a man in his early twenties. Amanda Gottfried, a corporate professional, is newly married to young Adam and is a beautiful addition to the family. Although she allows Adam to focus on the growth of the business, she makes sure that he doesn’t steer off course and keeps him in line when things get a bit chaotic. Allyson Gottfried, the daughter and sister of the Radio Family, isn’t afraid to express her feelings of the family’s ways especially when they are crossing the line (in her eyes.) Allyson is a working voice over artist and actress. Although both Amanda and Allyson are busy with their careers, they seem to find themselves involved and supportive of the family’s ever-growing radio show.
Audience and Appeal
With an estimated 50+ million golfers in the United States alone, and with the number continuing to increase, it’s clear that America loves golf & travel. America also loves the conflict that surrounds achievement through adversity; and watching a vocal, close-knit family like the Gottfried’s working together to accomplish the same goal will satisfy any appetite for behind-the-scenes drama. The show will appeal to both the golfing community and fans of reality TV. Not a golf show! This show will showcase a family making it in Hollywood via the radio network that continues to triumph when things seem to fall apart and overcoming the reality of failure or disappointment.
